Sophie Angus Visits ESWIM

Tonight, ESWIM had the privilege of welcoming Sophie Angus- Canadian Olympian and one of the country’s premier breaststrokers to our training base at the Etobicoke Olympium.

Sophie spent time on deck delivering technical feedback, drills, and high-level insights on all aspects of breaststroke. Her ability to break down skills, explain the “why” behind each movement, and give athletes clear, practical adjustments made a noticeable impact on the groups.

Opportunities like this go far beyond a single session. For our swimmers, hearing from an Olympic athlete provides powerful inspiration, showing them what is possible with hard work, discipline, and belief. At the same time, the knowledge and technical detail shared by someone performing at the highest level gives our athletes tools they can immediately apply in training.

We are grateful to Sophie for giving her time, experience, and passion to our club. Visits like this help shape the next generation- not just through improved skills, but through renewed motivation and a deeper understanding of what excellence looks like.
