Two things scare me. The first is getting hurt. But that's not nearly as scary as the second, which is losing.
Pain is temporary. It may last a minute, or an hour, or a day, or a year, but eventually it will subside and something else will take its place. If I quit, however, it lasts forever.
If children have the ability to ignore all odds and percentages, then maybe we can all learn from them. When you think about it, what other choice is there but to hope? We have two options, medically and emotionally: give up, or Fight Like Hell.

National Development Group
Another month has gone by and the group has responded very well to the ”performance on demand” concept. With the completion of the Hicken Meet past us, the last couple of training cycles have been very strong, especially with the pool closure, the group has accepted the challenges of having to swim in different pools and differernt pool sizes, the program and swimmers are doing an incredible job of staying focused.
The swimmers are faced with numerous challenges in the dryland program, which reinforces the swimmer’s to overcome their fears and challenge their self-believe system.
The skill to over coming performance anxiety is a skill that will determine the athlete’s ability to achieve success mentally. As the athlete learns to deal with these fears through their athletic behavior, a more confident and determined swimmer will emerge and embrace all challenges which they are faced with. This is where goals and goal setting play an integrate part in the success of the athletes swimming.
Keep up the good swimming and stay focused on your goals.
Remember “NO FEAR”.
