OFFICIALS - Registration and Levels

Posted 2019-08-30

Huge THANK YOU to those of you who have already initiated the OFFICIALS registration process for the 2019-2020 Season.

There seems to be some confusion with respect to what constitutes a Level 2 Official.

Most officials at ESWIM are currently Level 1 Officials

1. You have taken the Intro to Swim Officiating Clinic

2. If you took the Intro clinic after Sept 2015, you must also take the Safety Marshall Clinic

3. You had completed registration with Swim Canada Officials Registration System.

Level 2 Officials

In addition to the requirements for Level 1

1. You have received 2 SUCCESSFUL on deck evaluations as a Timer;

2. You have taken the Judge of Stroke/Inspector of Turns Clinic AND have received 2 successful deck evaluations as a Turns Judge or Strokes Judge; and,

3. You have taken 1 other Level 2 Clinic AND received 2 successful deck evaluations in that role.  These clinics include: Chief Timer, Chief Finish Judge/Chief Judge of Electronics, Clerk of Course, Meet Manager or Starter.

(Although Recorder-Scorer is a Level 2 clinic, there are no deck evaluations for that role and therefore does not count towards Level 2 certification)

**All 3 of the above requirements must be completed for Level 2 Certification.

Please keep this in mind when completing your registration for the upcoming season.
